Hi everyone! I’m Ali, and I’ve been tutoring history in one-on-one sessions for around 14 years. I’m an expert at tutoring in different environments, including online, face-to-face, and even group sessions. I’ve hundreds of students and helped them excel in their academic and professional lives. I come from Budapest, a city known for its Gothic and Romanesque architecture. This influenced my interest in English Gothic literature. During my time in school, I have really enjoyed reading books by authors such as Mary Shelley, Bram Stoker, and Edgar Allan Poe. This love made me interested in teaching and studying the dark, hauntingly beautiful stories they have made. I have taught in Hungary, England, and the US for 14 years. I focus on how the social and political situations in the 18th and 19th centuries influenced Gothic literature. I also bring in a Central European viewpoint to the discussion.
Literature is more than simply words on a page. It shows different worlds, times, and ways of thinking. When we study Gothic literature, it isn't just about the dark tales but understanding the fears, anxieties, and societal pressures that birthed these stories. In class, I enjoy exploring different settings, analyzing the hidden meanings, and encouraging students to share their own thoughts and ideas. Because I come from Central Europe, I often talk about European history and how it relates to the Gothic era. How might people from Eastern Europe see Dracula based on their folklore? How does the book Frankenstein connect to the scientific progress and fears during the time it was written? I want each lesson to be like an adventure, where students are encouraged to think, analyze, and find connections between different cultures and time periods.
English is well-taught by Sara. She is so great that words fail me. She obviously enjoys teaching English and is quite knowledgeable about English literature. She is also highly supportive, organized, and full of enthusiasm. She is teaching English to my daughter right now, and she is making rapid progress in both her writing and grammatical abilities. Despite her young age, Sara constantly keeps her inspired and full of confidence. I like to stay to the point and avoid irrelevant discussions that might hinder students’ learning. I’m a Ph.D. scholar, and I’ve been working as a senior research writer for around 10 years. M.A. in 20th Century History
I have taught history for 13 years, with a main focus on the 20th century. I worked at a well-known school in Bristol for most of my career. I helped students learn about important events like the World Wars, the Cold War, and the rise and fall of empires. I have helped many students with their IB projects and exams. A lot of people have said that my advice had a big impact.
To me, history is about tales. I enjoy telling stories from the past to help students understand important events. We examine diaries, letters, and newspapers from that period. This helps students experience what it was like to live in the past. When getting ready for tests, we do a lot of practice. We review past exams and practise writing effective answers. I can also provide advice on how to effectively manage your time during exams. I want to help students feel prepared and not too worried.
Emma and I spent only a brief amount of time working on my IB History. We established a thorough plan for how to approach the task in our first trial lesson and were successful in doing so. She consistently showed excellent subject knowledge throughout each lesson, and if I felt stuck, she was able to provide insight from a different angle. Her ability to really listen and comprehend her students' requirements before determining how to communicate things in a way that makes sense to them is one of his strongest talents. I am grateful for her tutoring, and you can be sure that she will always go above and beyond to ensure that your work is perfect. For 13 years, I have focused on learning and teaching about ancient civilizations and how they have impacted our world today. I began working as a research assistant at the University of Cambridge. I became very interested in civilizations like the Mesopotamians, Egyptians, and Greeks, and I wrote and published several papers about them. After that, I started teaching as a Professor. I have taught at different universities in the UK, sharing new ideas with students who are excited to learn.
Ancient history is not only about events from thousands of years ago. It involves making connections to the present and understanding our origins. I use both traditional teaching methods and modern multimedia tools to make history more engaging. This makes sure that students learn not just facts but also understand why these civilizations are important and how they have affected the world.
Aiden has really helped me with my history dissertation. I was having a lot of trouble, but he has been a great teacher and friend. He has been honest with me and quickly fixed my work.
