Master's in Religious Studies with a special focus on Eastern Religions
I have been teaching students about Eastern religions for more than 20 years. I became very interested in the ideas and ways of the East, which led me to become a teacher. I have talked with scholars, monks, and people who practice different Eastern religions. This has helped me learn more and I use what I've learned in my teaching. It's nice to see students every year start to like Eastern religious ideas. Some even go on their own spiritual journeys.
I believe that to truly understand religion, it's important to learn about its practices and philosophies, not just read about it. That's why, in my classes, students participate in meditation, watch documentaries about religious rituals, and have discussions about Eastern philosophical ideas. I tell them to ask questions, disagree with ideas, and share their own beliefs, so that we can have a lively and respectful learning environment. My main goal is for students to not only gain knowledge but also feel spiritually fulfilled..
I immediately felt comfortable with Rawan as a teacher. After I told her my goals, she helped me map up a study schedule. Her kind demeanour and genuine enthusiasm for teaching will have you dreading the end of class. Whether your goal is to master Arabic, memorise the Quran, or perfect your Tajweed, she is your go-to. Every time I have a lesson with her, I feel like I make progress. Additionally, she is professional and flexible. That's why she comes so highly recommended from me.
The way she introduces us to the Eastern world's philosophies is simply mesmerizing. It's more than just a class; it's an experience.
M. Sc. In Computer Science
I am a passionate educator with almost 23 years of experience. I aim to create in my students a deep understanding and confidence in answering exam questions and tackling new and unfamiliar problems. My philosophy is based on the idea that learning happens in an environment of mutual respect in which students are encouraged to think and make new connections for themselves.
My approach varies depending on the student’s needs and learning style: lecture, demonstration, and facilitation. However, my teaching philosophy encourages students to think for themselves, using real-world examples wherever possible. I use questions and measures to check my understanding continually. I usually focus on exam-style or past paper questions to study, practice, and perfect students' understanding and technique. I also emphasize some of the less obvious but vital skills, such as logical thought and the effective use of numbers and graphs. My digital resources include PowerPoint presentations, handouts, and PDF books.
Salma Osman is an exceptional computer science instructor. Her teaching style is remarkable in making complex concepts feel approachable that are easy to grasp. She guides me through the learning process. I have acquired solid knowledge in operating word processors, creating presentations, learning to type, and understanding the basics of internet safety and more!
M.Sc Economics
I completed my Master's degree in Economics in 1999 after my B.Sc.(Hons.) Economics. I started teaching Economics in the year 2000 to the students of MBA. Later, I shifted to A level stream of education in 2001. My students also achieved world and regional distinctions in Cambridge international examinations. During the COVID-19 lockdown, I started teaching online to my students, who also produced A-grades. I am running a study abroad consultancy as well.
First of all, I create an environment for the students to focus on a topic, and later, I take normal day examples to strengthen their viewpoint. It will help my students learn my subject without losing interest. I also use the diagrams and empirical data to analyze and evaluate the topic, and at the end, I assign a question to be answered by the students to practice the topic.
M.A. in Modern Global History
I have been teaching history for 22 years. I have studied many different time periods, but I am most passionate about modern global history. I started teaching in London, and then I got to teach at schools in different countries in Asia and Europe. I have supervised many student projects on various topics, such as the end of wars and countries gaining independence, as well as the modern era of global connections in the 21st century. Being in research groups at LSE has helped me see things from different angles, and I try to pass that on to my students.
History is not just a record of things that happened in the past. It is about understanding how decisions, actions, and reactions come together to shape our world. I like to have discussions in my classes. Students learn about events through different types of media, such as documentaries, interviews, and digital archives. This makes learning more interesting and comprehensive. For those preparing for the International Baccalaureate (IB), we work in a systematic and organised manner. In addition to teaching the required material, we also give students practise exams to help them learn how to write clear and complete answers. We provide feedback regularly to help improve.
I had a really fantastic experience! The lesson covered all the topics thoroughly, and what made it even better was the interactive participation. This interactive approach to learning really enhanced the overall experience.
I really think that his expertise is extremely fascinating. I have a great deal of curiosity regarding various subjects, such as history, art, and other related topics. I had the lucky opportunity of discovering both a mentor and an instructor who graciously agreed to assist me in my search for knowledge.

Ph.D. in History from Stanford University
I have a Ph.D. in History from Stanford University, which has helped me in my 22-year teaching career. I love bringing history to life for my students, going beyond just reading textbooks.I am proud of my career, which focuses on doing well in academics. I focus on helping students analyze history, question stories, and form their own opinions. History is not something you just learn about, it's an opportunity to connect with the past and learn valuable lessons for the future.
I believe that history should be taught in a way that fully engages students. I use different ways of teaching, like acting out scenarios, discussing topics, and recreating historical events, to help students understand the past. By doing these activities, students learn a lot about history and also get better at thinking critically by looking at what happened and considering different points of view.
Rhys is so cooperative. He is highly recommended by my side. He helped me a lot when I was struggling with my exams.
Rhys is okay, I guess. He's a bit too serious in class. Sometimes, I wish he'd lighten up a bit and make history fun. The assignments are kinda challenging, and he doesn't give us much time to complete them. But, to be fair, I've improved my history grades with his help, so that's something.
Rhys has been kind in improving my history course. His classes are structured and well-prepared. He encourages critical thinking and deep analysis, which has been immensely helpful. However, I'd appreciate it if he could provide more detailed assignment feedback. Overall, a great tutor for serious history students.
