Hi everyone! My name is Kim and I’m a certified and award-winning Chinese tutor with over 13 years of teaching experience. Along with online tutoring, I also run my own Chinese academy located in Beijing — where my team and I are currently teaching around 600 students coming from different countries. My past experience is also embellished with years of dedicated teaching at multiple institutions, including the Peking University, Tsinghua University and many others. I’ve developed excellent tutoring skills and I can confidently say that I can tutor almost all ages of students, regardless of which nationality they belong to. When it comes to choosing my tutoring approaches, I tend to focus on the learning preferences of students rather than the traditional tutoring approaches. I look deep into what works best for the students and what does not. This enables me to design lesson plans that perfectly befit my students' needs. I explain the concepts verbally and incorporate language learning activities. My approaches not only help the students to master the surface-level language rules but also learn the core metaphoric meanings of utterances. Along with all this, I make sure to immerse cultural knowledge into the sessions.
